Noel has nine years of experience as a graphic designer, focusing primarily on environmental graphic design and corporate identity. His interest in history surfaced early in his career in the research and design of the "ghost sign" mural for the Indiana Pacers' season schedule at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Work includes exhibit design for the Spurgeon Hall of Spirit in the Dauch Alumni Center, and building signage for the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering, both at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana; the "Journey to the Gold" exhibit for the NCAA Hall of Champions in Indianapolis, Indiana; design for the Mounds State Park interpretive center in Anderson, Indiana; signage for the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana; a city-wide wayfinding and interpretive sign program for the City of Muncie, Indiana; as well as a wayfinding and signage master plan for the Eli Lilly & Co. product team facility; interpretive signage for White River State Park; signage programs for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis; the Indianapolis Art Center and ARTSPARK; the logo, brochure, and signage for the Kessler Historic Park and Boulevard System, all in Indianapolis; the Indiana Recycling Coalition's e-Scrap campaign; and the primary logo for the Indianapolis 2011 Super Bowl bid.

Noel recently wrapped up his stint as project designer for the Indiana University Hall of Champions exhibit in Bloomington, and has designed the sign program for the nationally recognized Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Noel earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, with additional studies concentrated on printmaking, history, and philosophy.
