Hinkle Fieldhouse

Originally constructed in 1928 and named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler University underwent a major $36 million renovation in the summer of 2014 that provided significant upgrades and improvements. As enthusiasts of Indiana history, we collaborated with University leadership to integrate the nostalgia of historic basketball arenas into the design of the wayfinding signage, while being functional, clean, and Butler Bulldog-centric.

The wayfinding signage design heightened the nostalgic-feel of the Fieldhouse. Reminiscent of vintage grocery store signage, the look carries dimensional letters for the concourse and raised edges that complement the facility architecture.
